On the Vigil of Pentecost, 2 more oblates made their Promises, John Wrynne and Mary Tierney. John's family were over from Ireland and he had the joy of showing them Hyning for the first time and part of the beatiful countryside in the North of England. Mary's brothers came from different parts of England and it was lovely to see the two families enjoy the day together. The brilliant sunshine helped the occasion and with the retreatants from the Pentecost there, it meant that there was a crowd of 50+ people to witness to their joy. It took place at Midday Office and was followed by a festive lunch for Oblates, guests, families and retreatants! There are a few pictures of the day for you to have a look out. (Please note that John is actually wearing a suit rather than his usual gardening attire..).
