This year, the Church celebrates a special Jubilee Year for St. Francis of Assisi - marking 800 years since his death. St. Francis, known for his love of God, creation and the poor, lived a counter-cultured life of simplicity and poverty. His detachment from material goods, status and power brought him the graces of freedom of heart, inner peace and confidence that came from complete trust in God’s merciful love.
Over the weekend, we will reflect on St. Francis’ lifestyle and consider how we too, might receive the graces that St. Francis embodied so powerfully. Our reflection will be guided by Sarah Gardner - an ecologist with a background in agriculture and environmental economics and Catherine Nelson.
